Hamskea Archery Insight Peep System vs. Podium Peep System...which do you recommend?

Setting up a new bow (finally), and am looking for input on these two systems. The bow will be dual purpose, competition/hunting, so versatility is a must. I do a lot of long range (60-100 yard) shooting and will probably play with clarifier/scope combos this year as well. Both systems look like they are good quality, but I've only ever used plain old no-name peeps for the past 40 years. Any input is appreciated!

If you need a clarifier, Hamskea. If you need a verifier, Specialty.

I have been using the specialty Verifier with the large hooded peep and don’t know how I shot with out it
If you need help seeing your pins then you will need a verifier if you can’t see the target you will need the clairfier it’s that simple I have to use the highest readers to see close up so I am using the blue verifier there are 6 different powers and I am using almost the highest
Good luck

Thanks for the explanation re: verifier vs. clarifier. I didn't know the difference. My vision is corrected to a little better than 20/20 with contact lenses, but I need +1.5 readers for up close. I thought I would play with the verifier/clarifiers and see if they cleaned anything up.

Specialty Archery has shrink tube for the standard excellent peep to make it tubular. Of course, all their clarifiers and verifiers fit it.
One thing, you have to have all these elongated peeps come straight at full draw or you can't see through them. Okay, Hamskea, Archery Specialty and Peep N Tom (accepts all Specialty orifices).

Or you can make your own with shrink tubing....

Hooded peep with shrink tubing.

In order; Ham, Spe, PnT

I have 3x of those Podiums.
Both target and hunting.
No complains what so ever so I will continue use them.

I don't use any clarifiers/verifiers or apertures in my hunting bow just plain peep.
If U need bigger dia peep then there's that Specialty PXL for hunting..

I like the Podium peep. If I need more shade outside, screw it own. If I need a smaller or bigger apenture , screw it in. If I need a verifier, drop it in and use whatever sized peep hole you need for scope. With the specialty peep, you can change verifier, but you have to BUY a different size. With the podium I can run a clarifier with a 1/32 or an 1/8 peep size by screwing in a different size. If I want my verifier. I take out clarifier glass, drop in my verifier, and if I need 3/32peep, I just screw it in. So if I need a verifier and clarifier, I buy 1. If I need 5 different peep sizes I have them. If you get the specialty archery peep, and needed a verifier and 5 different peep sizes, you would have to buy 5 different apentures at $35 each. Then if vision changes and you need a stronger verifier, well with the podium system, you just buy the glass one time for $30. With other, another $175

Both the Specialty and Hamskea are great, high quality products. The main difference would be the Verifier lens for the Specialty. Older eyes will benefit, (I’m prob not too far off from them 😉). Other than that, I would say it’s a Chevy/Ford or a Mathews/Hoyt thing.

I chose the specialty after talking to a few that had used both.

Shrink tubing over the old specialty peep is not the same as using the podium peep.

I’ve been using the podium for a few months on one bow testing it out. Still have some more testing to do but so far I do prefer it to the old specialty peep.

I would not use it for hunting, but for target applications I think it’s going to be a winner for me.

The order of things. Years back Tim Gillingham wrote of the shrink tubing - his pic looked like the Specialty below. All that follows is a result of Tim's write up; Next came the Peep N Tom - plus it uses Specialty orifices. I believe Tim went with Peep N Tom. And Archery Specialty followed up with their shrink tubing and then the Podium peep.

Not a heck of a lot of difference anyway you look at it....

You can purchase a plan peep w/o the hood, this is what I run, it’s called the large 1/4” peep it’s lite and you can run the verifier or clarifier with no problems as well as the different sizes. I use it for hunting so the 1/4” works great for me.
Good luck
