I have the opportunity to lease a farm in Hancock county Illinois for the season....Real close to Carthage....Is this area overhunted as Pike and Adams and how are the trophy prospects...I know it is just a few miles from Iowa as well. Any of u fine Lincoln state folks know anything....i would appreaciate it

I've been hunting Hancock for the past 5 yrs, right near Carthage/West Point area. It is an excellent area, we lost are lease though so we are hunting near Nauvoo in the northern part of the county. I killed a 150 two years ago. Excellent hunting. PM me if you need someone to go in on a lease with ya, always looking for more property in that county.

Illinois is terrible....I would never wish an Illinois hunt on my worst enemy. deer are dog size. I would try Kansas or Ohio.

I agree Bang. All those monster on videos are done with trick photography.

Pennsylvania is where the deer are, not Illinois.

Hancock County

I am part of a lease in Hancock Co. just East of Carthage off 136. We have killed some good Bucks ,167 best to date , we have seen and I have missed some bigger. We see alot of 110 to 120 class bucks but let them to grow another year. Seems to be alot less pressure than Pike Co.
