Just make a frame, some heavy screws and washers, hang it from the top only. Let it swing but keep it a a half foot or so behind you target. By allowing it to swing it will absorb the energy fast and stop the arrow with little penetration.

 

Yeh i agree with Dale, let it swing. I did the 2x4 sandwich thing, not good. You will have to sink the 2x4 2 feet or make some back braces. Then.....it wont fall down and THEN its too stiff and unforgiving and you wont get you tips back, at least i didnt. Let it swing ! 😁 good luck 👍

 

I just screwed mine into a 2x4 and let it swing. I used screws like they use putting on metal roofs, hex head with a little washer on them, keeps them from pulling thru.

 

I agree. It's best to let it swing. I actually drilled holes in mine and have it hanging from hooks. I was worried it wouldn't swing enough if it was screwed to a piece of wood. Good to know either way would have worked

 

This is how I hung mine. Worked great. Just be ready to ruin a couple drill bits while your doing it. Ha.
