Since I'm new to this maybe someone here is will give me some advise. I hunt here in florida which is still Hot (90's) during archery season, starts on the 23rd for me. If by chance I get a deer, After skinning and quartering should it immediately be put on ice, direct contact or put meat in some kind of bag so there is no direct contact with the ice. Thanks for the help in advance Guys.

Swampdog.....I have always lived and hunted in FL. As a matter of fact, I will be in the woods on the 23rd as well. I live in northwest zone...and hunt here, but also hunt down there in Dixie county. Our procedure has always been this...after I shoot the deer, we go back to camp and hang him and skin/gut/quarter him and put the meat in ice chests....then cover them in ice with the drain plug open. Keep an eye on it and plenty of ice on it.
