Has anyone tried any of the battery heated vests or jackets available? If so, do they work and what brand do you have?

..use Arctic Shield products in conjunction with Heater Packs....battery concept is still aways from the needed technology.

..your own body's heat reflected is more effective!!

the artic shield i tried sounded like a bag of potatoe chips in the cold weather, zero degrees and calm and it was just too noisy, it was warm but i dont think as warm as a heated vest would be.

I have the sitka one (dutch oven) and when its 6 degrees in the stand I am proud to have it on. Its is typical sitka quality and it has 3 heat settings. On high it will roast you for about 3 hours. I rarely have it set that high. The low setting radiates heat across your core and keeps you toasty, but when it does get real cold I will wear it as a layer and bump it to level 2 which lasts all day. Extremely lightweight, soft , and quiet as most sitka is.

Plug it in each evening and its good for another day. I can highly recommend mine and when I am hunting in Canada, or anywhere cold you can bet I will have it on
