hey guys i just bought a mathews switchback (05) and was wondering how you guys are getting such fast fbs from light draw weights. I am shooting 65lbs and a arrow that weighs (399 grns) it has a peep and 2 cat whiskers. I have a drop away ohhh and my draw length is (29). I am only getting 260fps. To me that seems to be alot lower than what it should be and what you guys are getting.

Also would aftermarket strings make that much of a difference?

Do a loop give you extra speed instead of hooking directly to string?

Catwiskers will make a SB "spooky" quiet I say keep the catwiskers and don't worry about the 6FPS you will pick up because you won't see any difference in your pins just on the chrono.

Just chronoed my Hoyt Vipertech, it has a peep with rubber tubing, a string nock, and whiskers, 28" draw at 65 pounds, shooting a 389 gr total weight arrow...250 fps and whisper quiet to me. Sure I'd like it a little faster but now I wished I never shot it over the chrono...it is excellent the way it is.

260 fps sounds just about right. You are loosing 40 fps just in the extra arrow weight and 1" less than 30" draw length. Figure another 10 or more FPS loss in the peep, nockpoint/d-loop and cat whiskers at least.
