Hello everyone,
I am tuning a PSE hybrid cam bow and it seems most people will set the cam sync where the top cam hits slightly ahead of the bottom cam. Does that mean the tuning marks on the top cam would go more toward the riser or more toward the string? There is an extensive tuning thread on this site that states, “ Buss cable- a twist in the buss cable advances the top cam (makes it hit sooner), it lengthens draw length, decreases ATA and increases letoff/valley (assuming timing was even before the twist“. This does not seem correct, on the PSE Madness or Drive style cams twisting the buss or Y cable changes sync on the bottom cam. I have the bow set at factory spec with the rest set level through the Berger hole on the riser. As of now I am getting slightly nock high through paper with a fletched shaft at 6’. However I am getting way nock high with a bare shaft at 10 yards. What should be done to fix this? Will changing cam sync and making the top cam “hit first” correct a nock high condition? Also the bow only has one string stop, so how do you check cam sync?
Thanks,
Adam
