Going with the GT XT Hunter 300 Spine at 27.5 or 28” long with VPA 125 grain unvented broadheads for white tail hunting. What is the best insert weight for this setup?
356 ibodepending on the ibo of your bow, with a 70# dw, 28.5" dl, 27.5" arrow length, 125 grain broadhead and 300 spine, i would use standard inserts or you will probably be underspined.
Depends on your setup. For your setup, if you use a 300 spine I would keep the length around 27.5". I like my arrow length at least 1" past my arrow rest. Keep in mind, increasing arrow length will weaken arrow spine. It is definitely better to have your arrow spine a little on the stiff side. My draw length is 29" and my arrow length is 27.5", from the valley of the nock to the end of the shaft. What is the best suggested length at 9.3 grains per inch?
