Hey, I was wondering what the best materials for a homemade archery target would be? Is drywall okay to use? My bow is a Martin compound bow set at 70lbs. I also use carbon arrows if it makes any difference.
http://www.archerytalk.com/vb/showthread.php?t=1425598 this is one of the more popular DIY methods for building a target. Drywall wouldn't last very long and would be pretty messy. If you live anywhere near a feed store, you can buy compressed stray bales for around 10 dollars a piece and they will stop your arrows. Just about every target is going to get "shot out" over a period of time so, try to rotate your point of impact on the bales to maximize the life of your backstop.
