hha dsxl - 5519 loud! How to adjust?

I recently bought a dsxl-5519 single pin hha sight. When the 3 nuts on the sliding mechanism are loose enough for the wheel to turn easy the sight is loud when I shoot. If I tighten the 3 nuts so that it is not loud the wheel is somewhat difficult to turn.

Has anyone else noticed this? What is the recommended amount to tighten the nuts from HHA?
