I’m in a delima i currently shoot a 1 3/4 .10 housing on my tetra max but dang if that .10 don’t wash out sometimes in the shade and a target in the sun I’m wondering if I should just pull the trigger and get a .19 scope or try a light what’s y’all’s thoughts

This really sums it up. Everyone's eyes are different and what works for one, may not work for another. All you can do is try. And then you have the sun playing heck with the entire set up. It's easy to see why some use an umbrella in competition to eliminate a variable.

If you shoot a lot of long distance stuff, stick with the .010 pin. I like the .010 pin better, but can’t see it well sometimes because I’m old and my vision isn’t what it used to be, so I now use an .019 pin. I hunt a lot from enclosed blinds and won’t have any sight without a pin light. My current sight is a Tetra.

Have you considered trying a verifier? I shoot a .010 on everything as I really like shooting distance. My pin was a bit blurry which was frustrating. I tried a verifier (#5) and it has been a game changer for me. I’ve hunted and shot a lot of 3D for a few seasons and no issues. I keep a few q-tips and a silk cloth on me incase I need to wipe it off but never had to. May be worth a try.

Guys I think some of you are missing the ops question/issue here....
He's asking about a specific issue of the sight pin when shooting from shade to a target that's in the sun, not just normal shooting when conditions are ideal. I run across this allot when turkey hunting from a blind. The only fix that I have found is to make the pin brighter with the use of a sight light.

As a few others have said, if you're shooting distance, stick with the 0.10 and add a light
If you're shooting more "hunting distances" go with the 0.19

I run a 0.19 pin in the UV3 on my 3D rig, but most of my shots are sub 60
If i really try and stretch it out, I put a 0.10 cartridge in and have to turn the light on
