I finally got to shoot it.........:)

While visiting with OBT and kitty this past saturday evening........... (Thanx again OBT and kitty for the wonderful hospitality extended again)........ I got to put my hands on the Carter Evolution.

OBT slides this little gem across the table. And then hands me this "draw practice thingy".......... (A string inside a tube with a pistol grip on it).

So I click the release on, begin to draw, and punch myself in the mouth............ :D :D :D

(SPECTRE, being a thumb banger, is used to keeping his thumb OFF of the trigger............ ) Then OBT tells me that you're supposed to have your thumb ON the safety.:embara: The shot in the mouth reminded me.......

But you guys who already shoot backtension releases will have no trouble whatsoever. It feels just like the standard thumb peg on the backtension release you probably already own. Feels the same when drawing it too. Just lock your thumb over that peg and it WILL not go off until you release the peg.............. then pull straight through your shot.

My holding weight was 16 pounds. Pretty much the same as OBT's.......... (He had that little Easton weight checker thingie................. You can't hide money...........)

So this time, I load up an arrow, stand about 5 yards in front of the bale............ draw, release the safety, and pull through the shot...........

BANG! ! ! totally surprised me when it went. Held steady as a rock too.

This release is AWESOME! Too bad kitty has her attack dog trained to sniff out carter releases. Stupid dog wouldn't let me out of the Hilton on Sunday morning until I removed the Evolution from my pocket and put it back into OBT's Archery Sack.............

The thing even fit me really well. And my hands are teenie.

Don't worry OBT........... when I get one of these then you'll have to take a seat with kward next time............

it was good to see you spectre.....even if you rolled into town wearing those silly snake boots.....i mean i do realize were country out here....but not swampy.....i will say that you stand tall in your danners...no doubt about it

yes indeed the evolution will soon be improving or correcting not only scores...but also holding patterns...i think the patterns will be less and less full....flybys will be a thing of the past....

If I remember correctly, in the last thread by OBT the cost of this release was stated incorrectly. Think it was put at around 189. I just looked in my new LAS catolog and the Evolution in listed at $159.99. Now we're talking! Can't wait to try one out.

So Spec, 300 30X with the Evo.? What kind of scores are being shot right out of the sack?

I gotta say that OBT was holding steadier and longer and shooting better than I've ever seen him shoot............ period.

You would've thought that somebody cut his right index finger clean off...........

And his x's on the vegas face weren't really linecutters........... more like inside out. Scarey.............

I shot it from about 5 yards just to get the feel for it (didn't want to hit the shower door again............ :D :D

And it's awesome. Totally scares you to death when it goes. It's that nice. All you do is focus on the spot and pull. So simple........... even SPECTRE can do it...........

And what about uphill/downhill? I know hills play havoc on the Loesch. Inquiring minds of field shooters want to know.

If you're shooting a backtension currently then you won't have any trouble at all. It's a true "backtension" release, except now you don't have to relax your fingers, roll your hand, etc.............. (you know, all the things that require a backtension to go off).

That's why I like it so much.

Draw, anchor, aim, let go of the safety, keep aiming, pull.............. "X"......... :D :D

29 more repititions and you get a big check...............

Now wait a dang minute here...........Brown has delivered to OBT..........but obviously not to Cookie:confused: .......what is going on here anyway Cookie, did ya get demoted on the Carter ladder?

Couple other questions. Since it fits girlie hands:wink:  how will it fit more masculine digits????????? And, OBJuan, will one be at the Classic for some to take a test spin:confused:

I like the idea behind the design of the Loesch, but I can't get over the way it looks. This looks better, but I would like to try before I buy......since Brown don't just show up at hacienda Lamb..........

for all inquiring minds.....who want to know....

while i have yet to traverse any big up or down hill shots....i did take my bow off the back deck and shoot it down...no problems what so ever

if your looking for some skeptism on this release.....especially if your comparing it to "other" brands......i dont think from the sounds of it there is a comparison......

here is the deal...i have let some people shoot it....and i have it set on a "LIGHT" breaking weight.....and most people that shoot...seem to be shooting more weight then me.....and therefore...there breaking or holding weight tends to set the release off once they let off the safety....so if there is a drawback...its that you just cant hand this release off to anyone and everyone ....ive said it before...this release is more of a personal release once you have it set....

if you have this release set to your bow .....i see no problem with hills, angles, or anything that any other release cant handle....you just cant creep to far and go through the holding weight and back.....once you anchor....if you want to let down...you must engage the safety and let down....and if i can do that...anyone can....as i have 0 experience with hand helds or tension type releases....yet i am enjoying the way this release drives and fires....
