My apologies for posting this in a public forum, but I was unable to send through a PM.

I have exhausted every avenue I can think of, and I'm hoping with your connections to Mr. Easton and WA you might be able to pass this concern to someone who might be able to make a difference...

The issue is with the media coverage for para archery events; while the coverage [despite currently being behind a pay wall[] is good for the para archery events in general, the visually impaired [VI] classes are rarely broadcast [or even discussed by commentators]. I Think there was partial media coverage in Dubai, I have never found video of the VIs in Pilsen, and while I have not listened to every minute of the Gwangju coverage yet, There seems to be no video/discussion of the VI results; and an archer from Belgium smashed the VI B1 world record by 7 points...

Mr. Easton, WA,[and even yourself in podcasts] talk about universality in the sport, and yet the VI division is seemingly ignored when it comes to mainstream media coverage.

Yes I know we are still a small segment of archery, and yes I understand we are not part of the Paralympics and do not bring in those funds to WA, but this year in Gwangju the VIs shot just shortly before the[compounds I think],without even a mention that I've heard of the
VI results despite over 12 hours of coverage between the other para divisions.

I'm hoping that with your connections this oversight can be addressed by World Archer.

Thank you from a VI.

A reflection on this topic
I fully and respectfully share the concerns expressed regarding media coverage of the VI. Media visibility is a fundamental element in recognizing and valuing this discipline.

I understand the challenges involved in scheduling and event coverage. However, expanding and providing consistent media space could represent a meaningful step forward. It would help strengthen the value of inclusion on a global scale.

In today’s world, where people engage less with written content and focus more on visual media, this factor must be carefully considered. Effective coverage through images and live broadcasts is essential to ensure that the stories and achievements of all athletes are seen and appreciated.

It would be highly desirable for all stakeholders to explore ways to ensure greater equity in media coverage, so that every athlete, in every category, receives the visibility and recognition they deserve.

As we continue to work toward greater inclusion, a question arises out of genuine concern:
Could the lack of adequate media coverage become a real risk of discouragement for the countries represented by these athletes?

Well, apparently it looks like WA at least has some video of the VI competition as someone [I think WA] posted a video of part of the VI B1 gold medal match... It was the two commentators from the rest of the coverage; but the clip from best I could watch was the last couple arrows of the last end... Hoping for more "viewable" clips to hit somewhere, but it does become disturbing in a different way if WA actually has the events and they weren't broadcast live or linked on ArcheryPlus like the other events...
