Horse "blocks" buy or NOT?

458 2
I made my first trip to the local feed store and was looking at the compressed blocks for goats..horses..ext. Which one should I buy and why. I understand that certain stuff is NOT palatable for certain animals, but how do I know what will work? I had a Whitetail Institute 4 play block in the cart and started to compare. I ended up buying a horse block with a big 37 on it.
Some advice please!

Are you talking about mineral blocks or protein blocks?

If you're talking about mineral/salt blocks any will work, but you might as well get the trace mineral blocks with salt.

If you're talking about the protein blocks, then make sure that they are suitable for horses and not just cattle because the high protein blocks can kill horses and deer won't eat them.
