I will be bowhunting out of my blind for turkeys this year. I heard that you can set up your decoys as close as 10 yrds? Is this too close?

How close is too close, and what do you guys/gals recommend?

I usually put the hens up front about 7 yards from the blind and the gobbler in the back about 10-12 yards. I like to keep them in close so the shots are usually closer and therefore easier. But that's just how I like to do it.

Got to experimenting a couple years back, if you're in a blind I've gotten the decoys as close as three yards. Lately I've been setting them about 6 or 8.

Killed a bird last year at about 3 steps, had to wait for him to get off my decoy at about 5 steps. I usually set them under 15yrds.

I put my strutter decoy at 8-10 yards with a hen about 5ft. in front of him, then scatter the rest out.
