I live in Las Vegas. I just took up archery and would like to know how I may go about finding a group or similar. Do poeple have issues or qualms about someone who shoots with a longbow. I have noticed that most use a Compound bow. Thanks

Don't sweat it! Most of us realize that we aren't dedicated enough to shoot a longbow!:wink:

Just start looking around here on AT and you'll probably find lots of people from your area. I like recurves, but I don't have one. I know the traditional shooters at the ASA shoots all have a blast. Welcome to AT!

don't know about a group but ppl probably have attitude b/c they CANT shoot a long bow.LOL I tried a few times and decided that i would just have to starve if i was an indian, my arrows go like, 12 feet.

Go to the joint a group link and then search for whatever group you want to be a member of. There is one for women by "shoot like a girl" and I am sure you can find one about longbows as well.

I just joined one for the Carolina and one for Christian archery.

Do you have anything like Bass Pro or similiar? If so, you could go to the archery department and ask if they know of anyone in the area. Also, you could contact the Wildlife Conservation for the area, they may have ideas or know of someone. Good luck!:cheer2:
