Ok, just wondering how far everyone out there practices...I'm not asking about how far you'd shoot at a live animal. I'm just wondering what percentage of archers practice at what ranges in the offseason.

Please dont turn this into an ethical discussion about shot distance at animals...

60 yards, and i have to shoot across the street, through my front yard, down the side of my house and all the way to my back fence!

My pins are set at 20, 30, 40, 50, 60 yards. I mostly shoot 40 but do shoot 60 on calm days. But I do shoot quite a few from 5-30 in between.

I practice from 30 or 40...cause that makes it easier to kill deer at 20-25 yards...You must be steady.

During the off season,I play at all distances; but as the season nears, I almost exclusively shoot 40yds. When the moment of truth arrives, it makes the 20-25yd shots seem like chip shots.

Kind of reminds you of that Larry Bird and Michael Jordon commercial, when they are playing horse, doesn't it.

I've marked yardages out to 70, so I'll goof around at that range. More than likely I shoot 20-60 though.

I practice out to 40 yards. I been hunting for 10 years and never have taken a shot longer than 30 yards, most of my shots are 25 yards or less.

i practice out to 60 even though i wont shoot a deer past 35, with 25 yards being a much more perferable shot

I have 5 pins on my hunting rig (20, 30, 40, 50 and 60). Although I do practice @ 60, the majority of my shooting is done 40 and in.

Practicing at longer yardages does give one confidence at shorter yardages.
