From what I've read in the past Viper1 is correct.....shoulder height is the proper height.........I have my X on the NFAA Blue target at shoulder height and that's where I do my best to keep it there.....

Indoors I mirror the NFAA target height to my best ability, top target at chin height and bottom at waist. Outdoors my bails are bottom of bail at knee height and it's a 48x96" target butt 2 48x48 together. I shoot out to 102 yards on them.

that photo on the right would make a beautiful dogleg left on a golf course......
