it's not legal here in IA unless you have a CCW permit, what is the law in MD?

Yup, Buck knife, I'm not scared, I guess maybe in grizzly or wolverine country I would carry a gun, but not for black bears or racoons had to fight a pack of coyotes lats year for my buddies 163" buck, we won, no guns ,pretty damn fun too ,I might add

I've never been worried about any animals, then again there is nothing scary in IA or NJ where I've hunted (black bears are wusses), only the two legged critters. you never know when you may stumble upon someone cooking up some trouble.

I carry a glock 17. AZ has had a lot of negative publicity about the illegal aliens lately. A lot from people who have no idea how bad the situation has really become. I don't carry the gun because I'm scared of animals. I carry to defend myself in case I run into an ugly situation.

from what i have heard it is hard to get a permit in md but i think that you are able to carry without one on your own land, but would have to double check

I never used to,but always carry my .40 S&W now,I had a tense situation with some tresspassers and my 10yr old son was with. The tresspassers were armed,we were not,I will NEVER be in a situation again to not defend my family should the need arise.

Nope.

Archery-only permittees shall not have a firearm in possession while hunting big game during an archery-only season.
