How many kentucky boys in here entered for the elk drawing this year? I finally broke down and put in my application the other day. The logic that its a one in a million shot was with me the last few years but this year i figured that its as good now as ever. This year there's 200 tags up for grabs(better than the 10 they started with) and i heard that applicants were a bit low this year

I'm in

I put in every year, a friend of mine got drawed this past year and now holds the state nontypical record. He's from Middlesboro, Ky.. A couple of my friends took him to help call in and haul out. The hunt took a grand total of 10 minutes after they left the vehicle, talk about beginner's luck. It was killed in bell county..

Depending on how my Colorado hunt works out this year, I'll probably start applying for the KY elk hunt next year. It's not like I'll actually get drawn or anything, but the prospect of actually having a 4-6 hour drive to go elk hunting intrigues me.

In 20 years, I'll also be applying for the TN and NC elk hunts.

This years trip to CO is gonna be 30 hours solid driving. I'll need a day of recovery to get over the drive. (My knees and long sits in a truck don't mix).

I put in this year for the first time.
I have a good friend who lives in KY who has been putting in since it started
without being drawn. I'm planning on getting drawn so I can get even after listening to all of the stories about the eight and ten point bucks & turkeys he gets while I shoot does in SC.

I put in again this year. Have not got drawn for Elk but was drawn for a deer quota hunt last year. Ky does have preference pts for deer but I have not heard if they are doing it for elk. Everyone in state and out of state should put in for the draw. It is only $10 for the chance to get a tag. If drawn it is only $25 in state and $300 out of state for the tag. Good luck to everyone.
