hunting licenses.Buck and doe.Just trying to find out if michigan is getting out of control or not.I don't know if all you michigan hunters know it yet but doe permits went up to the same as bucks from what I was told.
Michigan you can buy a combination license for two bucks for bow and gun for $30 and doe permits went up to $15.
Another thing why does it cost so much for non-residents to hunt each state.I guess I just don't understand why that is.They say they to lower the deer herd so then they raise tag prices and charge a arm and a leg for out of state hunters to come hunt. They charge a non-resident $138 for one deer,$276 for the combination.
What does everybody think?

Not sure if it has changed for MD this year yet, but last year is was $24 for the hunting license and $6 for Archery stamp and $6 for Muzzleloader... Correct me if I am wrong...

Keep in mind it goes to a good cause... Helps keep that public land out there, and keep the sport going...

Virginia just increased our hunting/fishing licenses by $5 bucks each. We have everything all split out, for some reason too....

Hunting (basic license): $18.50
Big Game (deer,turkey,bear): $18.50
Archery: $18.50
Crossbow: $18.50
Muzzleloader: $18.50
Fishing: $18.50

My licenses all cost me $74 bucks this year.

Your completely right, the money is going toward a good cause. Plus, I don't think that $30 is a bad price to fill your freeze with a years worth of venison

Do get me wrong,$30 isn't bad to fill your freezer but here in michigan they really don't do anything for the deer.Sure a plot here and there. But,nothing to really help them get through some of our rough winters we have sometimes. But really why should it cost more if your a non-resident.I really don't understand that.Shoot at least their doing something about the turkey population by stocking them where the population is low.

In N.D. we are at a straight $20 per tag whether it's buck, doe, bow, rifle or pronghorn. No compaints from me. Our G&F dept is doing a good job and hunting gets better every year.
Our hunting license here in MN are $27 for first tag DOE or BUCK and then $16 for up to four intensive harvest tags. ND seems to be for the hunter all the way around, don't need a trailer license, their tags system, better state all around.

Wayyyyyyyyyy too much here in NJ...even as a resident...

For me...I get...

All-Around Sportsman (Includes Resident Firearm Hunting,
Bow & Arrow Hunting & Fishing Licenses) $72.25
Deer Permits for Bow, Shotgun or Muzzleloader $28.00
Rifle Permit (valid July 1 - June 30) $10.50

So, since I hunt two zones...I need SIX permits if I hunted all seasons, but I just hunt bow and ML for permit season...so its FOUR.

$72.25 + 4*$28.00 + $10.50 = $194.75 AS A RESIDENT!!!

General Fees for deer hunting here in NJ:
Resident Firearm Hunting $27.50
Resident Bow & Arrow Hunting $31.50
Non-Resident Bow & Arrow Hunting $135.50
Non-Resident Firearm Hunting $135.50
Deer Permits for Bow, Shotgun or Muzzleloader $28.00
Rifle Permit (valid July 1 - June 30) $10.50

BTW, NJ F&G is always complaining about not having enough money.
We are down to I think 2 COs to cover Central and Southern NJ.
And they aren't planting ANY of the fields on the WMAs that I hunt.

DJ, I'm moving out to ND with you! :)

The DNR does a buttload to help our deer. Only problem is the hunters do not do anything to help their own cause. Shooting any little buck and what not.

I'm still thinking the DNR needs to go to MAR in da UP and Northern Lower MI...with a one buck rule in the Southern Lower.

Remember...Michigan's license prices are lightyears behind the inflation rate. They should be around 30.00 for one kill tag. I would still gladly pay that.

Oh...one more point. Just how do they not do anything for the deer (DNR)? The DNR has managed to curb the spread of bovine tuburculosis which is very beneficial to the deer...a disease that spread mainly becuase of lazy hunters using truckloads of bait. In areas where the habitat is poor...which also happens to be the TB zone, the DNR has managed to bring the population for the most part in balance with the habitat which means there's actually food for the deer that are there instead of having a lot of deer pretty much starving. The only problem is that you still have hunters shooting any little buck/spike/<3.5year old buck that walks by completely skewing the buck to doe ratio.

Michigan has some great Field Biologists in the DNR, and they really do a great job...the only thing they have been unable to do is to change the mindset of your typical backwoods lazy arse MI hunters who would rather sit over a pile of carrots 30 yards off a road instead of actually getting off their ATV and going into the woods and scouting. Deer are out there, public land as well as private...I shoot lots of deer off of public land and I'll continue that trend.

it costs $24 for a firearm deer license and another $24 for a archery deer license and by the time you pay for a turkey license, stamp and application fee you have like $21.25 in a turkey tag

about 60 dollars here in MA for everything, which includes 2 bucks and a doe if you buy the 5 dollar permit. Your pretty lucky here if you shoot one deer a year though here in the central western parts of the state.

I hunt CT and that is a hundred bucks for an out of state archery only permit that lets you take as many as 6 with a bow. And in southern CT, that's very possible to do. I usually shoot 3

I am a out of state hunter.

I live in Kansas but hunt in Missouri.
A Deer and Turkey Archery tag combo costs me $120.00.
I get two deer tags any sex and two turkey tags any sex.
I am not sure of the exact price but extra doe tags I think were 15-20 dollars or somewhere close to that.
