You should hold it at an angle that it is natural to you.
Your hand should be as relaxed as possible. The fingers holding the release are just hooks.
The exact position of your hand on your face is determined by where it lands when your release arm is aligned with the arrow. There is no special spot on your face that you anchor to. You should find the spot by getting your alignment then figure out how to hit the spot on your face consistently.
