Well, I finally received my new Ultratec yesterday. I have to say that I'm very impressed. Afterall this is my first "high-end" bow--I've been shooting a Reflex Bighorn for the past 5 years. My question is, do you think 261 fps is about right?
Here is my setup:
2003 Hoyt Ultratec, Cam 1/2
XT 3000 limbs (exactly 41" ata)
31.5" draw length
59 lbs. draw weight
TKO fallaway rest
31.25" CX 300 arrows w/100 gr tip--405 gr total arrow weight.
string loop (no brass nocks)
string leeches
limb savers
7" doinker
It crono'd 261fps seven times in a row with a different arrow each time.
My KE figured out to be 62ft/lbs--pretty good for whitetail!!

260 - 270 fps is excellent speed for hunting.. and remember,
you're shooting 110 grains over IBO weight so that will
slow you down some but give you excellent ke and penetration.
With this setup you'd be good for any North American game..

My setup/seppd

Here's my setup:

Hoyt MT Sport
Cam & 1/2
ZR 200 Limbs
7" Shock Blocker
Quik Tune Drop Away 2000 rest
HHA Sports Triple Threat 4000
D-Loop on the string (rope)
Cabela's Carbon Hunter arrows - 55/70 lbs
100 grain field points
29" Draw
65lb draw @ 65%

I was hitting 250-252 on the chronograph this afternoon.

I ran your setup in The Archery Program and this is what I got for your setup. TAP has been right on 100% for evey setup I've entered.
It shows that your arrows are spined perfectly and you should be getting about 281fps

Thanks to all!!
Shooter Mike--I'm probably loosing some speed due to the peep sight, loop, and string leeches. I took the peep off today and put on a No-Peep. I really hate shooting with a peep sight..It feels much better now! It shoots right where I point it; I just have to learn to point it better!! lol

whats your arrow weight? If you know the length of the carbon shaft that would be great too - just the carbon and not the inserts or nocks.
Figuring a 29" 382 grain arrow, I've got your speed at about 258

I figured the cam 1/2 as a "hard cam" and your spine is still in the green, however it's slightly on the weak side (just hair to the left of center), but not enough to give it any consideration. HTH.

Slinger I would expect that ultra tec to be faster with that long of draw length. I have a serria tec 58 lbs, 29 inch draw, shoots a 430 grain arrow 257.
