Years ago my wife bought me an Apple E model press but right after that I got a Hoyt UltraTec so I never even used the apple press. So I have a like new E model press that is useless to me and I want to be able to work on my own stuff. I just got back from Afghanistan and bought myself a new CRX. What are the options for an affordable press that will work on a Hoyt and other bows? I know the high dollar ones, but what are the options for the average limited budget (married) guy?:wink: $400 for a press for the occasional use is out of the question. Are those portable cable types worth it?

I have heard the cables are good but if you are interested in the FYI section there are several threads of how to build your own for very cheap and great quality presses.

The cable types work very well. Also, you may want to check out the bowmaster press. Fits in your pocket.

Sell the Apple E and get a Apple Edge for $250. It isn't ideal but it works.

The bowmaster works great. Just get the NEW split limb adapters for it and it will press any Hoyt.
