I was asking the same question about 3 months ago.. But in the end I ended up with the Powertec.. at my shop it ended up being only $50 more for the laminated limbs so it was an easier decision for me..I do have to say the draw on the lazertec was pretty smooth also and it only shoots a few fps slower.. and you also still get the Hoyts lifetime warranty.. hoyt makes great bows, so what ever your decision is will be the right one with Hoyt..and to let you know my Powertec is shooting really good.. good luck

They are both good shooting bows and are a pretty good deal for the price.

Hoyt's laminated limbs like the ones on the powertec are pretty much bullet proof and may provide a little more consistency on very hot or very cold days. Although the fiberglass limbs on the the lasertec have not had many (if any) problems that I am aware of.

I have played around with both of them at the archery shop and prefer the "feel" of the powertec. But shoot them both and decide for yourself.

Buy what you can afford...either one will give you years of good shooting.

I just went through the same thing with both of these bows and the Trykon. I liked the way the cam and a half felt when drawing so much that I decided to take the Trykon out of the mix. With just the PowerTec and the LazerTec I went with the PowerTec just because of the laminated limbs. There was not much difference in the way the 2 bows shot I just like the look of the laminated limb better. Good luck with you new bow.
