Hoyt RX-9 stabilizer setup

Hi,

I am in the process to order a RX-9 Ultra and questioning myself, what stabilizer setup to choose. The bow will primarily be used for 3D archery and I don't want to make it any heavier than necessary.

For the sight I will go for an Axcel Driver with Picatinny mount and I won´t be using a quiver.

On the front part I am thinking of using the 2.25" Short Stop Stabilizer together with the Go-Stix 2.0 bow stand.

On the back, I was thinking of a 8" Stealth Pro 2.0 Stabilizer, but I am not sure if this is really required due to the "inline" mount of the sight and not using a quiver?

For me a backbar is a must. Not saying you cant shoot well without, but it makes the stability that much better. I also think a longer stab up front is going to be far more effective than the stubby. If it's just for 3D weight shouldn't be your top concern.

I tend to set the sight as close to the riser as possible even with dovetails. Supposed to show less torque and also gives you more clearance for longer range shots. So I don’t worry too much about mounted sights not being able to slide in and out. I think the driver is going to be a great sight. I’m running the Dialed Pruf and it’s ok. The big issue in my experience with Picatinny sights and Hoyt bows is whether there’s enough windage adjustment.

I have found a front stabilizer on a hunting bow does nothing for me…. Now I am talking 10” or less because that is all I have tried. They are handy when you carry your bow across your shoulders on your back though.

Back stabilizer makes a difference for me though…. I use an 8” with 3 weights. Helps balance bow left to right.
