I bought a HSS vest and am looking forward to using it this season. Typically I wash all my gear in baking soda and hang it outside to dry for 3-5 days. After that they go into my tub and are good for a pretty long time. I poured water on the HSS at least 8-10 times (including a day long rain) and have had it outside to dry for at least 8 days. It still smells like the dye used on it. I have also drenched it in WRC scentkiller 3-4 times, still smells like the dye. I am NOT going to add any scent to it to cover it up. Any suggestions? I may just leave it out for 2-3 weeks to see what happens but I am afraid the buckles may get rusted up.
