We are supposed to get snow all weekend. Do the deer tend to bed down during the snowing and get more active when the snow stops? Or does the snowing get them more active? I'm trying to figure out when to spend most time in the woods this weekend.

Well both! If you know where deer go when the weather is bad heavy snow is a good time to try and sneak up on one, the only weather better to chase them in is heavy fog, both take much of their sensory advantages away. If the snow is not very heavy they might lay up at first but will then go back to their routine though they will still stay in heavier cover.
If it is a good storm they will hold up till it ends and when it ends they will head out for chow as soon as it lets up. Randy

I shot this and many other bucks during storms,If I can get out of the wind and have a close shot,I like to hunt during snow or storms. This was the 2nd day of the storm and both days the action in the trees was fast and furious,JMO/buckslayr

They usually bed up near the food source and sometimes right beside it during a major snowstorm. If you could slip in near them or between them and their food you could have a good chance. I like before or after, but not during the storm myself. Others do just fine as shown. SRM
