How many out there are going to hunt with an Independence? I have one as a back-up bow and was wondering if I am going to get enough speed out of it for good penetration...currently shooting it at 27" and 70 lbs draw. Have yet to get it chrono'd--but I hunt with Beman Black Max 340s (around 500 grain total weight) and G5 Montecs. I would guess I am shooting around 240 fps---final question from some of you veteran hunters--what speeds were bowhunters in the 80's getting from their hunting rigs? My primary rig shoots the same arrows @ 260---but I shoot the Independence much more accurately. Thanks.

i would say go with the independence if you are much more accurate with it. 240fps is plenty of speed.. and with a 500 grain arrow it is more than enough KE. good luck dude.
