Find a coach and begin with a back tension release. If you find a good coach they will say the same thing. It is best to get someone qualified to show you than starting off by yourself. You will advance much quicker that way. Where in TX are you? What equipment did you get?

Look for an archery club in your area, and a good proshop. Definitly follow Brads advice on coach and backtension release.

Recurve, huh? :)

You need to order books from here:

http://www.usarchery.org/merchandise/index.html

Go in this order:

1. Ruth Rowe videos
2. Ruth Rowe book
3. Rick McKinney (best book on archery)

Then try to see one of the Olympic technical films that show Korean women.

Then, get a coach who wants to make you shoot like a Korean.

Good luck!! :)
