I couldn't believe my ears. I heard a shooting buddy of mine arguing with his wife about buying a new bow that he really needed. She was really on his case about it, but he stood firm and held his ground. No matter what she said, she still couldn't convince him to go right out and buy a brand new bow that very day.

If my wife ever spoke that way to me, I would be out the door before she finished her first sentence. (On my way to the nearest pro shop.)

Can't say anything about it don't know all the circumstances and just guessing but I'd say nobody does but them.So I'll just say I'm glad mine is always telling me I need to get me stuff not her, cause I'm always wanting to get her new stuff to try.
Was she tryin to get him to go get the bow? if so he didn't want to right? I can understand.

Women are smarter than you think. That sounds like the final battle in reverse psychological warfare. What is any man's natural response when ordered by his wife to do somehting? Not do it! :darkbeer: She knows exactly what she is doing.

I agree automan

I couldn't live like that if I had to ask my wife if I could buy something.

Femine definition of "sure fine" - YOU are so screwed if you do it!

Example: "Sure, fine.... get a new bow." For the next 3 years you'll hear "you buy whatever you want when you want."

This is exactly why I plan to buy as much archery equipment as I can before I even find a new girlfriend, not to mention a marriage :D

If I read it right his wife wanted him to go out and buy it but he said no.
She must want something expensive for herself

I totally agree!!!! If I buy a new bow, I double the money and that is how much it is actually going to cost me!!!

I am not going to complain to my wife if she asks me to wait on something. She is a business woman and she can probably make very good financial decisions. I have seen her take $5000 and turn it into $10,000 in a day.

But, even still it would blow me away, if she told me to go buy a bow. If she did, she would probably have a buyer for it when I got home and make a profit.

She THINKS she knows what she's doing, but she should be reminded that we men are simple creatures, and this reverse psychology crud is ineffective. Yes doesn't mean no, no doesn't mean yes. Yes means yes, no means no. If she told me to go buy a new bow, I'd be out the door on the way to the pro shop...Why?...Because I'm simple. That's what she gets for trying that reverse psychology on us, assuming that we're playing the same game. Sure, we might have to sleep with the bird dog on the couch for a couple nights, but the new bow would make it worthwhile.

Been there and done that. Women never understand the you NEED something unless they are a die hard into the same things that you are, then they understand. She definatley has a motive unless she is an archer.
