LOL! Do you know how big Spirit Lake is? :D :D There is less than one thousand unless they had some big boom since the last time I was there. :D

That looks like a nutcase paper to me. :D

Maybe they should call this paper the Paranoid Observer or the I Smell A Conspiracy Tribune. :D :D

That artical sounds like the infomercial that scam artist is running. Who says snake oil salesmen are a thing of the past. There is also the feces fanatic and his informercial. :D I can't believe people fall for this stuff.

Ignorance isn't bliss, it is expensive. :D

Feel feel to quote me on that. :D

H. J. Roberts, M.D., scam artist ??

disabled now because of it...can post over 1000 of peoples misfortunes....just say the word and i will give the link.

ASPARTAME DISEASE: AN FDA-APPROVED EPIDEMIC
By H. J. Roberts, M.D., F.A.C.P., F.C.C.P.
Dr. Roberts is director of the Palm Beach Institute for Medical Research, and an emeritus member of the medical staffs of
the Good Samaritan Hospital and St. Mary's Hospital in West Palm Beach, and prestigious medical/scientific organizations.
These include the American College of Physicians, the Endocrine Society, the American Academy of Neurology, and the
American Federation for Clinical Research. He has authored 18 texts and has had more than 240 original articles and
letters published, most deal with challenging diagnostic, metabolic and neurological problems. Dr. Roberts has been knighted
by the Order of St. George for his professional and humanitarian efforts, and was chosen by the editors of a national
medical journal as "The Best Doctor in the U.S." Dr. Roberts is director of the Palm Beach Institute for Medical Research,

"Diet" products containing the chemical sweetener aspartame can have multiple neurotoxic,
metabolic, allergenic, fetal and carcinogenic effects. My database of 1,200 aspartame reactors--
based on logical diagnostic criteria, including predictable recurrence on rechallenge--is reviewed.
The existence of aspartame disease continues to be denied by the FDA and powerful corporate
entities. Its magnitude, however, warrants removal of this chemical as an "imminent public health
threat." The use of aspartame products by over two-thirds of the population, and inadequate
evaluation by corporate-partial investigators underscore this opinion.

I was talking about that guy on TV. He is a scam artist. The one selling the book of miracle cures.

Everything kills us. We are dying the day we are born.

Do you drink or smoke? That is FDA approved too. If there are studies that say something is bad, then don't eat it! LOL! I

I don't do aspartame. I am sugar guy. It only has 16 calories a teaspoon I believe.
The problem is that people eat way too much sugar and some foods have a ton of those empty calories in them along with a lot of calories from other sources. Foods rich in sugar are often high in fat as well.

Why is it that the people that are into conspiracies will believe anything posted or printed or spoken just about anywhere, but will not believe anything that comes from the government? :D

I am sure I can find links to that may dispute your links. Oh my, who do we believe?

If you are going to do research on Aspartame, try here first. Doing proper research will enable you to make sound decisions. Reading a rag like the observer that has an agenda is foolish. There are better ways to form an opinion than reading stuff like that.

Read this first and see what the American Cancer Society and the Amercian Heart Association are saying.

i have read it and lots of articles likle it of course they say it's ok who donates thousands to the americanm cancer society, the american diabetes foundation and whoever else ..makers of aspartame do...The European Ramazzini Foundation responded to the EFSA findings by stating that they believed the 16% increase in incidence of lymphoma and leukemia between the aspartame group and control group signified that these cancers were caused by aspartame ingestion. As the EFSA had already addressed this in their 04 May 2006 press release, no further press release was made.i found out too late....for the last 5 years been to many docs and had numerous tests...35,000 worth.and none could tell me what was going on. all tests normal but yet i had all these symptoms....cronic fatigue, slurred speech, tingling in hands and feet, eyesight getting poorer, ear buzzing, ataxia (ensteadyness and loss of balance),severe depresion (was seriously considering ending it all ) well 2 years before i had booked a caribou hunt and didn't know if i would even be able to go last Sept. (only thing that kept me going was caribou hunt) well aug 7 of last year i got an email from my cousin warning of the dangers of aspartame.. i did some research on the net and found out a bunch
my wife and i read for 6 houirs straight. anyway got off of diet pop and aspartame..within 2 days about half of the symptoms disappeared...was good to go for the Caribou hunt, shot 2 Caribou...continued hunting whitetail that fall....shot(i bow 2 rifle) a total of 3 deer...all bucks.....ever since dec. have gotten worse..
i read through tons of research how aspartame triggers many degenerative deseases...i was finally diagnosed by a doc (i told him to take his best guess, as no other doc would) he said degeneration of the cerabellum

now you can believe what u like ....i have probably read like 1000 hours trying to figure this situation out (for years i thought it was ms) aspartame mimics several diseases fda admts to 92 symptoms and like 15 deseases mimiced
sure whish someone woulda warned me (sooner) the stuff turns to formeldahide and formic acid (the substance in the sting of a fire ant)
this isn't my opinion ...dispute the dr. above...all i know for sure at 52 years young i can afford to hunt all over.(was just on the verge of booking another hunt...and would have booked em for years to come)....now healthwise i can't thanks FDA

Can 600 scientists be wrong?

Ever wonder how things are going at work for Dr. David Graham.

Dr. Graham is the associate science director of the FDA's Office of
Drug Safety and for several years now he's been an outspoken critic
of the drug approval process at the FDA.

In 2004, Dr. Graham testified before a Senate committee, naming five
popular drugs that he said should be avoided because of safety
concerns. He added that the FDA was largely ignoring those concerns.

Since then, Dr. Graham has also been an outspoken critic of the
agency's involvement in the Vioxx fiasco.

So I wonder what a normal workday is like for someone who publicly
berates the policies of the top officials in his agency? You've got
to imagine there's plenty of friction there. On the other hand, a
surprising new survey reveals that Dr. Graham is not exactly a lone wolf.

"I have been asked, for non-scientific reasons, to inappropriately
exclude or alter technical information or my conclusions in an FDA
scientific document."

That's a remarkably candid statement, coming from a scientist
employed by the FDA. But that statement wasn't made by a single
scientist; about 180 FDA scientists agreed that they could honestly
make that astonishing claim.

Last month, the Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS) released the
results of a survey sent to nearly 6,000 FDA scientists. About 1,000
replied. Here's a sampling of their responses:
* 20 percent said they had been "asked explicitly by FDA decision
makers to provide incomplete, inaccurate or misleading information to
the public, regulated industry, media, or elected/senior government
officials."
* 61 percent said, "Department of Health and Human Services or
FDA political appointees have inappropriately injected themselves
into FDA determinations or actions."
* 60 percent said they were aware of instances "where commercial
interests have inappropriately induced or attempted to induce the
reversal, withdrawal or modification of FDA determinations or actions."
* 40 percent said they would fear retaliation if they publicly
expressed "concerns about public health"
When asked if the FDA "routinely provides complete and accurate
information to the public," less than half agreed.

In a press release about the survey, the UCS offered these three
steps to address the deplorable situation revealed by the 1,000
participating scientists.

1) Accountability: FDA leadership must face consequence if they side
with commercial or political interests and not with the American people.

2) Transparency: Scientific research and reviews should be open so
any undue manipulation is immediately apparent.

3) Protection: Safeguards must be put in place for all government
scientists who speak out.

Hard to argue with those measures. But until the day comes when greed
and cronyism can be controlled by bureaucrats with hearts of gold,
you can be sure the current drug approval process will continue,
business as usual.

As the UCS survey implies, the dirty little secrets regarding FDA
operating practices rarely see the light of day. As a result, many
people still believe the agency is dedicated to protecting Americans
from evil vitamins and one or two dangerous drugs. So we need to
spread the word that fear and intimidation are typical elements of
the regular drug approval process.
Science and safety? They come in a distant second, at best.
