Alright apparently these are already in production...

Insane Archery iPhone Tripod Adapter

Any DIY ideas on how to create something that will hold your iphone steady during your shot so you can review the footage after? I'm going to work on this with supplies from Westlake and maybe Wal-Mart, and I'll post my results.

That mount is one that has been shown on Gizmodo and Engadget a while ago.

My view - pay the 15 bucks. But, the iPhone camera shutter is not conducive for stuff like archery.

I probably wouldn't bother if I had a 3G or 3GS, but the iPhone 4 takes a pretty amazing picture and video in HD. I'll work on something and post my results.

I have been contemplating taking a universal gps mount and mounting it on the bar of my climber stand for my IPhone 4.
With being able to video in both directions I can video myself talking and also video any game that comes by, or even video the shot.
Could even video myself coming to full draw and aiming. Then with the magic of iMovie, waaa laaaa. Instant hunting video in HD. Only downfall, no zoom. To be able to see much detail things need to be within 20 yards.
