mounted about calf high on a down slope to the chestnut fields - Hurricane Irene did a number and a lot of the nuts fell prematurely, so the deer are here - they'll stay until all the nuts are gone - just too bad we can't buck hunt unitl October 1 - the deer and squirrels will have the grove cleared by then, but we should knockthe heck out of the doe population in the meantme -
