This has been our most requested broadhead this past year. My goal when engineering the s100 was to make a quiet flying, lighter weight 100 grain head without sacrificing durability, impact strength, sharpness, edge retention, cutting diameter, or precision accuracy. The result, which we are proud to guarantee with the Iron Will Lifetime Warranty, is now shipping!

Starting the request for a 1 1/4” head! Please make it haha. These look real nice.

Yes, 1.25" with .75" bleeders would be perfect for this midwest Whitetail hunter.

I had the opportunity to handle the new s100 at the ATA and was very impressed. Very compact and should be very forgiving. My v100s are the most forgiving fixed blade head I've ever shot, these s100s look like they would be even more forgiving if that's even possible.

Bill, the new heads look awesome though..... big surprise right? if you build some 1.25" prototypes, I will be happy to buy a dozen, and use only them...hint, hint. I planned on finding a head that I liked this year, and sticking with it, i'm trying to completely simplify my setups, get a system dialed in and stick with it, but have decided to just try a few heads this year, and kill some time hoping you build a 1.25" version.....

I have all the respect in the world for Bill and Iron Will. I’m a Colorado guy, and an engineer, so I love what Bill is doing! Just ordered the knife and have the impact collars. The material he is using in these products is everything and most people don’t fully understand that. “I bent the tip on my Iron Will, it’s garbage.” No, it’s not. NO broadhead is indestructible, but Iron Will and Bishops are as close as it comes.

Anyways, the whole cutting diameter debate -

Look at the holes the Magnus Black Hornet puts in animals. 1.25” x .875” (total-2.125”) cut on their head. (IW is 1.0625” x .75” total - 1.8125”) 17.5% more - Pretty drastic difference when you see the wounds. Does it “kill better”? Not necessarily, but it makes a much larger wound. Better blood trails, in theory, and maybe that extra bit will hit a vital organ that the smaller head won’t.

If you listen to the podcasts and how/why Bill designed this head - it’s for MAXIMUM PENETRATION, not maximum cut. He originally designed just a 2 blade, but realized how much even little 3/4” bleeders helped with bleeding.

By adding cutting diameter, you’re losing penetration, but making it bleed more. So, there’s a trade off. How much penetration you lose is debatable, some people will still want a smaller head, and some people will want a giant 2” head.

I'm getting a few questions on the difference between the s100 and s125 blades. They are the same width and thickness. The s100 is shorter in length. Photo attached.

As for the wider cut, I've been working on this for a while and plan to make some to test this year. I want to be thorough in my testing before this is released. I think most people are better off with our current size for excellent flight, penetration, and quick kills. The wider cut will target closer shots on whitetails and bears.

So the 125 will have a slightly shallower angle. Will this help in penetration? But maybe the 100 would fly slightly better because it is more compact?

Ordered a set over the weekend for deepsix. Can’t wait at to try them at 100 yards, I’ll get a review set up to give some feedback in a week and a half or so. This will be a major change for me as I have been shooting mechanical for many years.

Old thread, sorry.

But I’m thinking about ordering the heads in deep six. Do they shoot like field tips out of the package or will I have to re set my pins? I’ve been using mechanicals for years and I’m ready to make the switch.
