So this year I’ve decided I’m going to try and shoot a fixed blade Broadhead for hunting. It’s tough for me as my bow shoots around 307 FPS. Well I decided to try the Iron Wills. The Wides are too much of a stretch for me because of the larger profile.

Well I shot both the Vented and Solid today. The vented shot just like my field tips. I was extremely impressed with its accuracy. My last 4 shots of the day were basically a group the size of a large balled up fist from 80 yards and the Broadhead was the best shot.

I shot the Solid head as well. It was extremely consistent as it was hitting 4” at 50 yards. I mean extremely consistent. The plus for that head was it was about as loud as a field point. I didn’t think the Vented was loud but there was a difference between the two.

My question is does it mean my bow is out of tune because the Solids were hitting high? The bow was really just tuned so I don’t think so plus the arrow flight was great. They just hit high. How do I bring the solids down? Adjust the sight?

I wouldn’t hesitate to hunt with the Vented right now so should I just hunt with them?

Man keep the opinions to yourself. OP wasn’t asking for your input on if they’re a “good” broadhead but whether or not his bow was in-tune.

OP I’d look into Lowering your rest very slightly or raising your nocking point slightly. Only make one small adjustment at a time, longer ranges make small adjustments.. Close range make large adjustments.
I had a Prime Impact that was shooting Slick Trick Magnums 1-2” right at 40 yards, adjusted the rest maybe 1-2mm and was getting very tight groups ever since then. Longer ranges & fixed BH’s show where your bow is “out of tune”.

I hope this helps OP

I’ve shot the 125V for several years. Killed elk, brown bear, black bear, deer, Aoudad, and other stuff. This BH is scary sharp, easy to re sharpen, and accurate. If they are noisy, none of the game I shot, nor my self noticed the noise. I have not shot the wide version yet, but will soon.
I bought nine of the 125V several years ago, and still have all of them after killing a bunch of animals.
Not cheap at all, but worth the cost.

Yep tune a little more since they should shoot together, I have both and they both group with field points but will say the solid are a little tougher to tune at distance due to winds, form flaws.

Funny how ppl post but never give any use full input on what the OP is asking.

Thanks for the input. I shot the same two broadheads out of a different bow the other day at 60 yards. The groups weren’t bad but it seemed like the arrows were darting a little left and right. Very inconsistent. It’s because they were. I finally noticed my vanes were marking up my drop away rest. I have to reset the timing.
