Lot of factors play in though age, defiantly can factor in. in the last of years I have stepped down 5lbs from 70lbs to 65lbs & to a much less harsh draw cycle.

Crossbows have negated the need for worry about draw weight. You just have to convince yourself to shoot one
Perhaps in your case & your state. In the State I reside in Archery hunting means hunting with a vertical bow that will not allow a mechanical means of maintaining the bow in a drawn condition. Exceptions are allowed for those deemed disabled.

Some of us have discovered that Heavy draw weight offers less advantage than does a heavier well tuned arrow. Think 500 to 650 grain total arrow weight. May also be something to this single bevel stuff.
