Northern coyotes look big but weigh a lot less than they look. Just shot this one in NJ a few weeks ago, weighed 44#. I did read that our northern yotes do have 10% wolf dna in them.
No reference to tell. Also, it's area dependent. Down here in South bama and north FL they usually don't get too big. The ones I see when I travel north to hunt are significantly bigger than the average yote down here.
Depends on your area. I trap coyotes from Nov to Feb. On average they are between 30 and 45 pounds. Met a guy 2 years ago that trapped one that went 52 pounds. I know the song dogs down south and west run smaller. But they have better fur. That pic is a pretty dog. Has beautiful fur from what i can see..............
Anyone remember the guy from Canada that claimed he was "schlocking" (think that's the term he used) coyotes that averaged 80-100 lbs or something like that. He took a lot of abuse.
