I found this on another forum...is this old news or am I the first to hear this?

I had a phone call this morning from Wayne Pearson. I think we all knew that it was a matter of time before Wayne got back into archery. Well, he is back and he's excited.

For those who don't know, Wayne started the old "Outdoor Trail" shoots in the late 80's which gave birth to ASA (Archery Shooters Assn.) He sold ASA and has been out of archery for almost 10 years.

A "Masters of Archery" tournament is being set for May 2007 back where it all began...Valdosta, Georgia. This will be a 100% payback shoot.

I realize you don't have all the details yet, because I don't have them, but I'm curious about your interest in a tournament like this. It's not a tour...but a tournament that will probably become an annual event. I understand they will pay 20% of the field in each class. "

It means, that 100% of the entry fees will go into the pot. The top 20% of each class will get to split that 100% of the entry fees.

Worked with Wayne when it all started. Maybe I could give him a call and tell him that the marked yardage 3-D shoot in Redding California was bigger than the ASA Classic. I'm sure he could top 2000 shooters in just a couple of years on the East Coast with a marked 3-D shoot.:wink:

Interesting you should mention Redding Brian. Pretty certain this new tournament is being held the same weekend as Redding.

At least it doesn't conflict with the 1st annual Badger Pro-Am which is being hosted a couple weekends later !

While I still enjoy the ASA, and plan to continue on the trail.

In my opinion, Wayne Pearson is a genius when you talk about outdoor events! Archery is one of his specialities!

I was there in the beginning and I will be there "God Willing" if he comes back.

I don't care if we play "Tiddly Winks!"

Where ever Wayne is, you can bet, that is where the action is!!!!
