Mastering Compounds

Heres a link to a CD Rom version of the book!...............PUG

Mastering Compounds
Not only that, James Park has TWO NEW BOOKS on the way! The first, on diagnosis of form, will be out in two weeks.

(His second book is on tuning, if I recall.)

I was hoping to find the book in print copy. I don't have access to a cd-rom in my favorite porcelain reading chair:) :)
The book comes as a PDF. You can get it on CD or a downloadable version. Then just print it out and take it to the can.
Is this book worth the money? There is so many books and video out there. Would people who bought it step forward and let us know if its good. I don't want to start another debate but i'm undecided between this one and the one with a title similar to a movie that came out a few years ago.:D ;)

I'm clueless as to the movie, so help me out here......what would I be comparing it to.............is it "dumb & dumber",
"anaconda" or "ren and stempe".............ck
For target shooting it is the best available by far.

I think it is the best book on compound bow archery. The second-best book on compound bow archery is probably "Idiot Proof Archery." After that, things start to get really ugly....

The best book on recurve archery is "The Simple Art of Winning," which is really fantastic, and also the best overall book on archery.

The Simple Art of Winning

Are you sure about this title? Amazon.com doesn't list it at all. Do you have an isbn number?

PS: Ruth Rowe's book is also excellent, but not as advanced.

Jim is getting the book publiched at the moment. Just waiting on the cover design and ISBN number and then it will go to print. He also has 2 new books coming. Mastering Form Analysis and Mastering Bow Tuning.

Jim's books are very well thought out. He has relied on years of research into what is the best way to shoot a bow. I've read many many archery books by many top shooters and most leave me thikning "yeah I already do it, so why can't I shoot as well?". Jim's book explains a method, why it works and what the results will be. He also shows pictures of many great shooters and shows you what they are doing and why they do it.
Also covers range estimation in FITA Field, shooting on slopes and choosing the right equipment.
Sorry about the bad humour, It sounded funny at the time:eek:

I was reffering to "Idiot Proof Archery" wich is written by bernie and I heard some people reffer to is clinic as "Weekend at Bernie's" wich is the tittle of the movie.

I just didn't want to bring up the title because the last time it turned out to be contest between the "for's" and the "against's" :(

I just wanted to hear about Jim's book.

Is there more people out there with some good or bad opinion on his book?
Archery Focus had a review of the book, the writer thought the book was very good. The review was pretty well written if I remember right. :D
Ok, now that it was "weekend at Bernies" it makes sense......guess I went brain dead.....:D

I have both and have read both. I say buy them both because they are different and both good. I honestly find Bernies book to be more complete and greater in detail and depth. He says more than is necessary an pitches his own products a wee bit too much for my taste.

"Mastering compound bows" is only about 89 pages printed out and that counts the table of contents, and even the cover,..... what's with that? Felt there was a lot more to say that was never said. Lots of pictures that take up many of the pages, some useful to point out form.

I think that I would rather own Bernies book if I had a choice of only one, but I will most likely buy the two other books that Parks is coming out with. Shows how starved we are for good archery literature. Not a fan of computer books however. Hard time lying in bed reading them.

And yes, I printed out the first on my computer at work so I could have color, but that means an 8x10 book, in a binder of some sort........not my cup of tea...........

Heck, just buy both, can't hurt...........ck
