Ive been trying to get the inside scoop on archery shops in the Kansas City area, but it seems everything I find is a bit outdated, so I thought I'd start a new thread here that is a little more up to date with the current time.

So, for those of you in the KC metro area, what shops do you recommend? I'm looking to upgrade my bow and need to get a full setup. I'm a chick, so I'd prefer to go somewhere that's trustworthy and won't try to rip me off with a bunch of unnecessary stuff that I don't really need.

I'd love to hear the from everyone on what they think is the best in the area and why. I'll definitely appreciate any and all advice! :thumbs_up

Dangasaur: Your shameless plug was well played if you ask me! I'm not afraid of a little hard work from time to time, so let me know what I can do to help.

As for all the others who have responded, thanks for the recommendations! I'll pick one shop out of the group of referrals and let everyone know how my experience goes overall so others can use this as a reference point going forward.

If you are within driving distance, it is the only logical decision!! Mike and Gayle have always treated me more than fair, and they are VERY good at what they do. In fact, truth be told, Mike is the main reason why I hate most proshops. After he works on your stuff, and you go somewhere else, you dont want to pay them, because you realize that they actually suck at what they do. Mike has really opened my eyes to what a TRUE PROSHOP actually is. And as I said, I can say I have been in only ONE true proshop in the last five years or so.
The name of that proshop is CARTERS ARCHERY in St. Joseph Mo.

Carter's has been my go-to shop for nearly 25 years. Mike and Gale are friends that always go the extra mile for their customers.  Mike does not send a bow out of his shop within it in optimum shooting condition and he backs up his work.
Anyone that says otherwise is full of it
