Perry McClure, the president of the Kentucky Crossbow Federation, recently spoke to the KDFWR Wildlife Committee about expanding the KY Crossbow Season. As a result, the KY Dept of Fish and Wildlife Commission Board will consider expanding the KY crossbow season to be the same as archery at their meeting on Friday, March 23 at 8:30am EST.

If you live in Kentucky, there are several ways you can help:

1) Contact your Commission Director before 3/23 and express support. Find your county's director at bit (dot) ly/KDFWRdirectors
(I don't have ability to post links, so please replace the (dot) with an actual . )

2) Attend the Commission Board meeting on 3/23 at KDFWR Headquarters in Frankfort.

3) Download and print our Call to Action flyer to hand out to your friends, family, and co-workers who may be interested. See attached file.

Thanks,
Mary Kathryn DeLodder
KCF Secretary/Treasurer

I really don't understand why States limit the use of a crossbow. If the "powers that be" would go on a hunt with someone they would see that there isn't an advantage to be gained with a crossbow. Now shooting at a target there is an advantage but not in hunting situations.

Good luck to all of the crossbow hunters in Kentucky on getting the same season as vertical archery.
