if anyone could please calculate my kinetic energy for my hunt coming up in a few days it would be greatly appreciated!

bow: Mathews Mission Menace

draw weight: 48-49 lbs.

arrow weight: 300 grains with vanes, insert, and broadhead included

if you can get 260fps??????? don't know, that would get you to 45ke....

i'm guessing what it might get....48/300

arrow speed X arrow speed X weight of arrow devided by 450240 = ? your number

Here's a website that'll do it for you (plus give you momentum and FOC calculations).

However, if you need the formula it's:

Arrow Velocity(fps) x Arrow Velocity(fps) x Arrow Weight(gr) / 450,240* = KE in lbs

* I think the website calculator devides by 450,800

Easton Technical Products recommends the following amount of KE for hunting:
Small game: <25lbs
Medium game (deer/lopes): 25 - 41lbs
Large game (elk/blk bear): 42-65 lbs
Toughest game (cape buff./grizzly): >65lbs

you can also go to gold tips website they have a calculater for this. but you will need to know your speed and arrow weight
