I have found a few parcels of land I'd like to hunt. Nobody hunts this land that I'm aware of. The land is owned by people who do not live on the property, but somewhere else in the community. I obtained the owner's names from the courthouse. My question is do you think they'd appreciate it more if I ask via letter, a phone call, or by knocking on their door? Also, how do y'all typically ask to hunt land? I don't mind paying to lease it if they are reasonable, but I don't want to throw that out there if they'll give it to me for free. This is my first time to ask an individual if I can hunt their property so I'm new to the proper way of asking.
