Has anyone else noticed recently how the quality of lighted nocks has droped off a cliff.
They are eather made out of subpar material or the nock fit.on the string is so poor that it pinches badly.

I went to try halos out on my vape TKOs and it was so tight on the string it rotated it when I was taking it off.
I switched back to my Amazon specials. They have been good to me. 20 bucks for a 6 pack.
I've been a fan of the Halos for a few years now (even before the name change) and never had any issues other than the occasional one that wouldn't turn on right out of the package. But recently picked up 3 packs and all of them are different from what I've received in the past. These new ones are extremely tight on the string and most of them don't work right out of the package. I actually just went through and pulled all of the ones that I have in my hunting arrows and went back to white nocks.

Just started shooting lighted nocks this year, so far the LIT nocks have been shooting well and fit well.

But don't have a lot of shots through them yet.

Last year I bought 4 packs of nocturnals for 4mm arrows. In 12 nocks, only 2 worked and most switches broke. I was able to return them and at this point will never go back to the nockturnals. I ended up buying the cheap ones off amazon and they all worked, plus they were about 80% cheaper. This year, I am not doing lighted nocks. I think they are a great aid after the shot, but its not worth messing around with, at least for me. I have reflective wraps on my arrows that I've come to prefer over light nocks. Plus I hate practicing with them. I don't like to see where I hit until I get to the target. The bag targets at the range sometimes allow an arrow to droop, which can skew my perception of where an arrow hit, and that messes with my mind when I'm shooting.

I haven't held them all, but LIT, Nocturnal Shifts, UFO, and the Amazon ones all look the same, function the same, probably all coming from the same factory in China

They are a good idea as far as seeing where you hit an animal, but there are too many other downsides (wider than a normal nock so you have to either shoot them all the time or re-tune, heavier, more expensive, and not as well made or as consistent) and so I only hunted with them for one season. Finding your arrow after the shot after a pass through is a weird reason for me for a tree stand hunters. I'm not sure how you can't see an arrow sticking out of the dirt right where a deer was just at.

I think a better idea would be to screw the battery and guts into the back of your insert and then you can shoot a lighter insert and point and then run either a fiber optic or wire back to a better made and smaller nock. GT makes tools to add and remove things from the back of an insert while it is still glued to the shaft.

Nocturnals were awful, cracked after little use. Glory nocks were huge and didn't fit string well. Deepower are ok but don't fit string well and didn't fly consistently. These are the best I've tried and also some of the cheapest. I've been using them (different brand names but same nocks) for the last several seasons and put some through multiple deer. Shoot great out to 80+ yards.

They fell off the cliff 20yrs ago! That’s why I just use a white reflective wrap on my arrow now. It doesn’t help see the arrow in flight/on impact, but it helps tremendously for recovering arrows that passed thru critters.

yep might be unpopular opinion but they suck and always have and never fly the same as standard oem nocks even when you try to weight match them with adding weight to the oem nocks. 9 times out of 10 they dont hit the same spot and even change your tune. I decided they were not worth it. only thing they are good for is filming killshots. but even then ill just stick with a bright nock like white and bright vanes and never look back

I totally agree for 4mm shafts. There's NOT a good lighted nock.
As far 5mm shafts, Ive been using the Nocturnal Shift nocks for several years without one failure.
As far as nock fitment. Well several factors play into this. One, gotta find a regular nock that's close in specs so that when you switch between the two, you dont have to redo nock sets and/or dloop. Or just shoot lighted nocks all the time. Second, overall finished diameter of center serving. Gotta know what this is and be sure that your string maker knows this when asked. Third, height of nocks also play into the equation so unless your willing to do some research then there could/will be some issues.

Tried them years ago, bought couple different brands because they all kept breaking or not working. Eventually concluded they were all junk.

Ive had good luck with the Deepower ones from amazon the last 2 years. Never had one not work or fail on me. I tried the strobe ones and didnt like them at all went back to solid green.
