Ok I’m not a professional archer. I’ve had my vista 31 about 6 months now and all I can say is WOW. What I love about the bow. 1. I absolutely love the draw cycle after shooting this and my elite valor the Athens is just simply better. 2 The grip all I can say is I love it. I did put a wrap on it due the I felt the finish was very slick to me but not a big deal. My personal accuracy is way better than any other bow I’ve owned I can now reach out to 50 and 60 yards with a good group unlike some other bows I’ve shot in the past. 3 quite now I will note I am shooting a vap ss TAW 620 grains so I’m sure that has a lot to do with it but it’s very quite. 4 Fit and Finish is as good as my elite if not a bit better the spring fever really pops. 5 The 65 pound option which is what I have is very nice for a tweener of wanting to shoot over 60 but not 70.
Things I do not like.1 The bow comes with gas strings which I was going to run but do to some wear issues on the cables I have seen on other threads I had them yanked of for a set of A3 bloodlines which are really top notch. That is really all on the dislike. Overall is now my favorite bow I’ve owned and it will be with me for a very long time.
Great job Athens.

I agree with your review. I also have a Spring Fever Vista 31, 60#, 29.5” draw. I left the grip as is. I like the thin riser grip, and that’s coming from someone who has never liked shooting off the riser. No problem here with the Gas strings. My guess is some have too much clearance at the roller guard creating an unnecessary sharp angle, which leads to cable wear.

The bow is simply beautiful and a pleasure to shoot.

My only con is let off. I like less let off, and even though it is set to 80%, true let off is about 86%. I have to push the bow forward to let it down, which I do not like.

I’d say your bow is out of tune/spec if you are getting 86% in the 80% setting. I just got mine in the mail yesterday and put on 80% setting and while I didn’t measure on my draw board I’ll guarantee it was nowhere close to 86%. You certainly didn’t have to push it forward. In fact let it creep just a bit and she was wanting to go in a hurry.

But for the bow to be 86% in 80% setting would suggest that in the 90% setting you’d be getting 96% letoff which is pretty much full lock-up. Haven’t heard any such thing regarding these bows.

Yall go watch Swamp Donkey Outdoors when he tests speeds @ different letoffs on the Vista. He shot his chrono because at 80% he bounced off the back wall and there wasn't much valley. That's what 80% is on my Vista 33 (it's not jumpy, but it's very much shorter valley and more hold weight). He normally shoots 90%, so that was not something his body was used to and it's obvious.

I'll put a scale on mine real quick at 85 and 80 to see if it's close by the numbers.
