She went about 100 yards. Using a CE Heritage arrow tipped with a 125g Razorcap. Sparse blood trail though.....due to the nature of the hit.

It just takes practice....my effective hunting range is only about 18 yards. It is kind of like shooting a basketball or throwing a baseball, after a while you just know how to adjust to hit your target without thinking about aiming...insticts take over. Its not really raw skills, they have to honed with lots of practice. You should try it.....it is really alot of fun learning and just different pace from the technical aspect of compounds we get caught up in. I still pursue my big bucks with the compound. In the last couple of years I try to fill my doe tags with my traditional gear.....lots of fun, oh yea I miss my target sometimes too!

A treestand set up on a trail to a bean field. Stalking deer in NC is very tricky, our deer are born jittery and nervous.

Thats great. I'm giving it a shot with a recurve this year as well as the trusty compound. It's been fun learning all over again with one, would love to pull off a doe like that. :darkbeer:

Yes....60 lbs at 28"...I draw about 27" with a long bow and that puts this bow at 57 lbs.
