There's a lot of good bows out there, custom and production.
One of the best shooting takedown recurves I've shot is less than $200.
I have a custom takedown also.
I've owned many bows in the last 49 years..I've found that it's more about how the bow fits "you" overall. Jim Martin at Mahantango bows makes several different model longbows at a reasonable price.
Kota Bows,, Kohannah, several more custom bowyers.
But, there are a lot of good production bows out there also.
I've had some custom bows made for me that were very well made with great craftsmanship..but they just didn't pull smooth or the didn't shoot pleasant. There's a lot more to what makes a good shooting bow than looks.
Cost doesn't always reflect shootability...most of the time it doesn't.
If the bow fits "you", and you have good form just about any bow will get the job done.
