Hi guys looking at getting revolt x haven’t had a compound in 30 years
one mate told me to get it another said stay away from it it’s a brand new bow from a archery shop
I’m in australia it retailed for $1700 down to $1250 clearance
any issues I should worry about or just go with it

I don't own one and haven't had a chance to shoot one but most that have them love them. The only complaints I remember hearing is that some do not like the clutch grip, it seems to be a love or hate thing with archers. There are other options also for the grip. Bowtech makes two others with higher arch and Tim Gillingham makes some higher and off set grips. Good Luck !

Love my Revolt X.. smooth, stable bow without a doubt. I have a Wide 6* Gillingham grip on mine as I found I have better grip consistency with that vs the standard/high clutch grips. Great bow all around and the Deadlock tuning technology is unbeatable.

I’ve personally had a horrible experience with bowtech. I have always shot pse until a couple years back I bought a 2022 bowtech solution. Horrible investment and huge waste of money. Horrible customer service. I could go into detail, but literally every single aspect about bowtech is trash. I just purchased another PSE.

So what do you think about the question the OP asked on the revolt x? Revolt x is trash? Every bow company has negative reviews as i had issues with Mathews and PSE

Op, I am one that don't like the clutch grip but other then that it's a great bow.

Revolt-X is a great bow. I bought a used one last year and love it. One of the best holding bows I've ever had right out of the gate, without doing all of the little things on the setup to get good pin float. IMO it is the best bow they've made so far with Deadlock tuning, I say that because it has a bit more forgiving centershot than most of the other deadlock bows. Easier to get fletching clearance with a 2" high profile vane. Most Deadlock bows have around a 11/16" centershot with deadlock cams centered, my Revolt-X was 3/4" (12/16"). The Revolt-X also doesn't seem to suffer from the serving separation issues at the tight turn on the cam like many of the other Bowtech bows do, from about the Solution era to current.

I don't know what issues "Dirtbagoutdoors" might have had, but I have 3 different Bowtechs right now and have never needed warranty or had any issues. The Solution is very finnicky about the setup, mainly for fletching clearance if using a high profile 2" vane (mine has a 10/16" centershot with cams centered, that was a frustration for sure), but I also really had to dig into the setup on it to get it to hold well for me. Revolt-X was stupid easy in that regard in comparison to the Solution.

My Revolt-X came with the factory clutch grip and the factory "high wrist" grip, the previous owner had bought one for it and included it in the sale. I put high wrist in quotes because they are only a 3° and that doesn't seem that high wrist these days. I could use either one with no trouble, I settled on the higher wrist one simply because it is a color I like lol.
I'm a poor example to talk to about a bow's grip though. Of all the form issues I've had to address over the years, a consistent grip just hasn't ever been one of them for whatever reason.

I'm with LukeG, the Revolt-X is probably their best all around hunting bow they've made to date. I'm an archery nut and think, eat, sleep, read, and talk archery every chance I get. I've never heard or read a single person say they weren't really happy with a Revolt-X.

I had a RevoltX and I wouldn’t say it was a bad bow but they were definitely underwhelming and had a few problems. I had one of their cheap plastic limb pockets crack, even in performance it was 15 fps slower than the Mathews, Hoyt, PSE that year at the same DL and DW. The tight 90 degree turn were the cable wraps on the cam kept wearing the serving in under a few hundred shots. Those cams did not have enough beef to them as I knew 3 people at my shop alone that came in with bent cams. Saying that, the bow was accurate and tuned easily. Just too many categories where it was just underwhelming.

This is spot on for me. I shoot mine in comfort mode, 80% let off with lucky stops. It’s the smoothest drawing bow I’ve ever had. I have had a tougher time with the clutch grip (I like Hoyt style grip). I settled on the high wrist option and wrapped it with grip tape. I’m shooting it extremely well. The deadlock technology is revolutionary in my opinion. I have experimented with several different arrow setups and have had the bow tuned in 3-6 shots every time. I haven’t had to use bowtech customer service so I can’t speak to that

Thanks guys everything I’ve seen on line seems to point to it being a good bow and stable to shoot mate that doesn’t like them not sure if he has even shot one but I’m guessing he heard about the Bowtech problems I saw from ages ago about trouble with limbs
I’ve got a draw length of 30.8” so that was another reason I looked at it ,seeing it goes out to 31” draw length

Another Revolt X lover here, picked up a used one on AT earlier this year. If you do get one I would certainly get a set of lucky stops as well. In comfort mine had a bit of a rough dump at the end of the draw cycle, I have never tried it in performance.

I don’t love the regular clutch grip. I’m not sure if it’s giving me any issues that aren’t really just “me” problems to begin with but it’s definitely not doing me any favors. I’ll probably pick up a Gillingham grip in 0-3deg after the season is over.

I had a Revolt X and it was my favourite bow. I liked the grip. I held well for me. It was easy to tune. Only issue that I had was the serving separating on the sting and cables on the cams. I'm not sure if it was how tight the bends in the sting and cables are that was causing the issue. It happened with the stock string and 4 different manufacturers strings as well. I ended up replacing the string and cables every 2-3 months because there would be 1/2" or more with no serving around the posts on the cams. I was also out shooting 30+ arrows every day. Other than that I really liked the bow.

I have the XL. Awesome bow. Factory strings are trash, but other than that, I give it an A+ on everything.

The Revolt X is one of the best all around bows ever produced. If you own a Revolt X, you don't need to worry about the draw mods, because its draw length adjustable. You don't have to worry about how it will tune. Because the riser design made it one of the best of the deadlock designs, you can literally tune any arrow to it. The movement of the cam in relationship to centershot , is I think the best of deadlock bows. The draw cycle is extremely good. Its as accurate as a lot of target bows, even some dedicated target bows. The string angle, the balance. You have aftermarket lucky stops if you want. Bowtech should still be making it. They got it right with that one.

The draw length goes to 31" but it is only 30" ata so shorter than the Revolt X. I'm thinking about the ss due to it being lighter overall and supposedly a much smoother draw (my shoulder is old and tired).

I’m another Revolt X fan. It’s my first Bowtech since the original General. I avoided Bowtech for a very long time due to the limb failure years but picked up a new left over Revolt X last winter. I’ve been shooting it exclusively since and have zero plans on replacing it anytime soon. I did replace the stock draw stops with Lucky Stops to get the let off down. I did not like the higher factory let off. I kept the comfort mods in place and love how smooth the draw is. I’m a 29.5” draw and shooting 70#s. It’s smoother than the 60# V3X33 it replaced. I like the stock clutch grip and have no issues with torque or discomfort with the grip. The bow balanced very well without needing any crazy stabilizer setups to keep pin float minimized. My two complaints are how low the berger holes are for mounting an arrow rest are and the hollow tube string stop. I prefer a QAD arrow rest and had to set the arrow higher than normal to prevent the rest prongs from hitting the shelf. QAD does make a LW1 launcher prong to solve this. The hollow tube string stop is not the quietest. I did add a cable guard silencer to the rod which helped some. Both are minor issues and a non-issue for the majority not shooting a QAD HDX arrow rest.

So mate has a PSE x force axe hardly used it back up bow hard case not sure off what the drop away rest is and the sight but he always buys good gear
Haven’t got a price off him yet
Are they compatible to the Bowtech revolt x depending how much he wants for it I guess

Hey op, I have no experience with that PSE bow, but if your buddy will let you shoot it (at your draw length/weight), try and shoot it back to back with that revolt x, see which one you prefer. The bowtech is newer, and as others have said, the deadlock cams make tuning stupid easy for folks without a bow press.
I got a revolt x the year they came out. It was easily my favorite bow at the time, just fit me like a glove, and with Lucky draw stops I could get the let off and valley exactly how I wanted. The stock string sucked-I think I replaced mine after a couple month from serving separation.
Now, I don’t want to derail your thread or start bashing brands, but my revolt x had a spontaneous disassembly about 6 months after I got it. The axle had suffered a mfg defect (either heat treatment or got too hot when machined) and sheared at full draw. I was not impressed with how bowtech handled the situation, while they did warranty my bow, it took almost 3 months to get it back, and they overlooked a damaged limb pocket when they did finally “fix” it (my pro shop was amazing, and they just did the limb pocket themselves at that point.)
I say this as a caution for ANY bow you get-especially if you’re in Australia-look at the dealer/manufacturer support and warranty. I don’t want to bash bowtech to you-they make good bows and are super popular where I am. My shop has a great relationship with them, and generally has warranty stuff resolved asap. Just be mindful of the support you will receive for whatever bow you purchase.

Again, bowtech is a fine company, I personally did not find the way they handled my warranty acceptable. Best of luck op-I’m not trying to turn you off the revolt x, it was one of if not the most accurate bows I’ve owned. Just make sure you factor warranty/support into your choice, these things are expensive and hunting time is precious. Good luck.

Cant go wrong with the revoltx, I had one, my only complaint is it was slow at my 28" draw. I had a vxr31.5 at the same time, same draw weight and draw length, the revoltx was 20fps slower. If your a short draw and you want some better speed, Id look at something else. I have a pse omen and a fortis 30 both with the EC2 cam, these bows are smooth and fast

so he only wants $600 for the bow and as it turns out I have a rifle he wants so we’re doing a deal on that as well so I don’t have to hand any cash over
So I’m going to jump in and have a go with it get my feet wet so speak with it and see how I like it and in 6 months if I don’t like it or I want to up grade I can either keep it for the kids or sell it and up grade

In the time I've had my Revolt X I have bought and sold about 10 other bows (Mathews, Elite, PSE and Bowtechs). Nothing has dethroned my Revolt X as my favorite... get the lucky stops they're well worth it, factory stop letoff is way too high.
