Is the true ballistic range and the angle range compensation found on the bushnell and leupold range finders worth the extra money? On most tree stand shots its only going to be a few yards difference right?

Right. And if you really want to know, just whip out the ole pythagorean theorem.
The pythagorian theorem only works with a 90 degree angle. Now add a mountainside or side-hill to the equation. Or go shoot field archery for a bit.

Yes . . . it makes a suprising difference.

Uhhhh.... there is STILL a 90 deg. angle on a side hill or mountainside... the formula still works. :embara:

I'd say it's alot more useful for a rifle hunter though. The odds of actually ranging a deer under a treestand are slim.... besides, you'll get the correct yardage if you range trees at eyelevel once on stand.

If doing a spot and stalk type hunt out west with 50-90 yard shots, uphill and downhill... it'd definately be useful. Then again, I'd be more worried about crosswinds in that situation.
